CAPM Examination Preparation Workshop - CAPM

This highly interactive 3-day course takes delegates through the phases of a project, using the Process Groups and Knowledge Areas that are detailed by the Project Management Institute (PMI)®.

Target Audience

This course is suitable for anyone who requires a working knowledge of the PMI® approach to project management, particularly those working towards the Certified Associate in Project Management certification (CAPM)®.


The CAPM® certificate is an entry-level qualification targeted at individuals who are new to project management or who require a basic knowledge of structured project management.


Course Format

This highly interactive workshop will enable delegates to gain confidence in the use of well proven techniques in the areas listed above. It provides a firm foundation for undertaking the external CAPM® examination through the use of interactive group exercises and sample Q&A sessions. The courseware also includes a post-course 75-question 'mock' examination.

Course Information

  • The current pre-requisites for undertaking the CAPM® examination are listed on These are presently either 1,500 hours of project experience or a minimum of twenty-three hours of formal project management training (satisfied by this course).

At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Define the differences between project and operational work
  • List the key initiating activities that help determine whether to start and/or continue with a project
  • Create a detailed plan for the project which will include scope, time and cost baselines as well as the management strategies for the project
  • Outline the purpose of quality planning, assurance and control
  • Identify, analyse and manage project risks
  • Name a number of reporting and control techniques that can be used to help manage the project
  • List the interpersonal skills that will help engage and manage the team and other stakeholders
  • List the key activities that will bring the project to an orderly close
