Course Information

  • The PRINCE2 Examination Board has determined that all PRINCE2 Practitioners should be re-registered within three-to-five years of their original certification (failure to pass the PRINCE2 Re-Registration Examination after five calendar years as a 'Registered Practitioner' will result in withdrawal of certification.

  • You will need to provide evidence that you have passed your original Practitioner examination to be eligible for Re-Registration. Please bring your candidate number and/or certificate to your course to show the invigilator. If you cannot provide your candidate number and/or certificate, please contact us

  • You must bring photographic identification on exam days (passport, driving license or student card) as it is an examination requirement to produce it for the invigilator prior to the exam. Failure to produce a valid form of photographic identification may result in a candidate not being able to sit the exams. For any questions about what form of identification is acceptable, please contact your Account Manager

Pre Course Reading

You will be provided with pre-course reading prior to attending the course. This pre-reading is interactive eLearning and is expected to take approximately two hours to complete - this is only a guide and you may wish to spend longer on this activity to help you prepare effectively. Your learning starts with this pre-reading, so please ensure you can complete the pre-course activities in full prior to attending.

You will need your PRINCE2 manual to undertake this pre-reading and also on your course itself. If you don't have the latest edition of the PRINCE2 manual (fifth edition - ISBN: 978 0 11 331059 3), you are required to purchase one - and please remember to bring it with you to your event.

Please check that you are able to view your pre-reading correctly by verifying you meet the minimum technical system requirements. Please also ensure that before you start your pre-reading, you read the terms and conditions.

By successfully passing PRINCE2 Re-Registration, you will retain your 'Registered Practitioner' status, which is recognition of knowledge, competency in the PRINCE2 methodology, and commitment to continuing professional development. Equally, anyone who has let their 'Registered Practitioner' status expire should undertake PRINCE2 Re-Registration to regain their 'Registered Practitioner' status.

PRINCE2 Re-Registration is set at the same level as PRINCE2 Practitioner and the purpose of the Practitioner qualification is to confirm whether the candidate has achieved sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor PRINCE2 in a scenario situation. A successful candidate should, with suitable direction, be able to start applying the method to a real project but may not be sufficiently skilled to do this appropriately for all situations. Their individual project management expertise, complexity of the project and the support provided for the use of PRINCE2 in their work environment will all be factors that impact what the Practitioner can achieve.

By passing the Re-Registration exam, candidates should be able to apply and understand how to tailor PRINCE2 effectively to a project within an organization environment supporting PRINCE2.

Specifically candidates should:

  • Understand the relationships between the roles, management products, principles, themes, techniques and processes
  • Be able to apply the principles, themes and processes to a project
  • Be able to create and assess management products.
